Pastor Nick Nicholson

As Lead Pastor of First Congregational Church of Ravenna, I am deeply honored to share in this sacred privilege of ministry. My calling is a lifelong learning adventure, one that continually reminds me that wherever we are on our journey, God is still speaking.

For more than 20 years, I have been leading worship and walking alongside people through the joys, questions, struggles, transitions, and sacred moments of life. I am especially energized by building authentic, inclusive communities where people are truly seen, known, safe, affirming, fully included, and fully loved.

Our message is simple: God’s grace excludes no one, and neither do we. Together, we are building hope, growing love, and following Jesus. Together.

I believe the church is at its best when we make room for questions, embrace lifelong learning, care deeply for one another, and discover how God is still speaking in our lives and in our world. Ministry, for me, is about relationships. Creating a community where people can come exactly as they are, discover their gifts, grow in faith, and know they belong.

A Little About Me. When I’m not at church, you’ll usually find me enjoying time with the people and animals. I have been blessed to share life with my beautiful and loving wife for more than 25 years. We love to travel and explore, and one of our favorite adventures was traveling Route 66 from beginning to end, an unforgettable journey filled with quirky stops, great stories, and plenty of memories. I absolutely love animals. We share our lives with two adorable cats, Dora the Explorer and Brienne of Tarth (Brie). I am also a pet chaplain, as I believe the love we share with our animal companions is sacred and that caring for them is both a joy and a weighted responsibility.

We enjoy camping, playing card games and board games, and perhaps most of all, simply hanging out with friends. Some of the best moments in life happen around a table, around a campfire, or gathered with people we love.

I bring all of that with me into ministry: a love of people, a love of laughter and adventure, a deep curiosity about faith, and a belief that God meets us in the ordinary moments of everyday life. My greatest belief is that God’s grace excludes no one. Neither do we at First Congregational Church of Ravenna.
